Robert Bonomo, M.D.

Robert Bonomo is Chief of the Medical Service at the Cleveland Veterans Administration Hospital and Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Bonomo attended Hamilton College and is an AOA graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, He completed training in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Geriatrics at CWRU. He is internationally known for his work in antimicrobial resistance in gram negative pathogens. His research has also focused on infections in long term care facilities. He is known as an outstanding research mentor. In addition to his role as Chief of Medicine, Dr. Bonomo leads the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center at the Cleveland VA and CWRU. He is known as a passionate teacher and has been the recipient of a number or teaching awards at CWRU, the Cleveland VA and University Hospital.
